Read the Japanese original.

On 27 October, RayNeo’s official Weibo account put out the next name, with a photo of actor Jiang Qiming wearing the glasses. The text is 「本来还想再藏一会儿的。小蒋老师先上脸了。雷鸟 iO+ 第四代双目全彩 AI 眼镜。即将登场」. The post says they had wanted to keep it hidden a little longer, and Jiang wore them first. The name is a fourth-generation binocular full-color AI glasses pair, and it says they are coming soon.

What the preview put down was the name: full color in both eyes

What is new in this post is that it calls the next iO full color. The price and the release date are not in this text. The photo stops at Jiang wearing them, and there is no spec table.

The iO in stores now puts text out in a single green color. The official product page in Japan sets the display color as 「モノクロ(グリーン)」 (monochrome green) and the method as binocular MicroLED and a diffractive waveguide. The same page also answers that it does not include a camera. The weight is 33 g, and the regular price is ¥89,999. Prescription lenses are an extra ¥26,800.

The name full color was set down beside the green text. The iO now is read as one color of text, and the next name is called binocular full color. This Weibo post put that name out first, and only that.

The iO on sale now is green text, with no camera

What the Japanese product page says it puts on the lens is AI answers, notifications, the schedule, the weather, live captions, translation, and a teleprompter. It says a transparent display equivalent to 33 inches. There are 55 languages, everyday use is up to two days, and dust and water resistance is IP54. The wake phrase is “Hey, RayNeo.” The page says RayNeo AI and Gemini are free, and other models are VIP at $9.99 a month.

I have worn this iO, and what I saw was green text about ¥10,000 cheaper than Even G2. The light hardware, and the lack of a camera, sit close to glasses you wear every day. The freedom of what you can put up is still narrow. Even with a full-color name attached, color does not fill that narrowness.

For all-day wear, I am staying with Even G2. iO also meets the condition of no camera and reading notifications and translation as green text. The gap in regular price is about ¥10,000, and I add that ¥10,000 and choose Even.

Wait for color, or stay with the green pair you can buy now

If you are waiting on iO+ by the name alone, you do not need to rush to buy the ¥89,999 iO new. If you want text and translation on the lens starting today, the camera-free iO is on sale on the current page. If green text is already enough for everyday notifications, Even G2 is fine.

iO remains, beside that, as green text with the camera left off. iO+ is at the stage where the next name has come out, calling that green binocular full color. Once the price is out, look at how the color is applied.

I'm transmitting the actual experience and usage of smart glasses.
